It is recommended to reach Jaipur as early as possible. Preferably before noon as you would have to travel a long distance by road. There is a small airstrip and helipad at Sawai Madhopur / Ranthambhore. But no reliable commercial air travel service.

Finish your lunch somewhere on the way to Aman-i-Khas, located next to Ranthambore. Which is around 3-4 hours (150 km – 180 km) from the airport.

After breakfast at the hotel, explore the massive city palace complex. Highly recommend taking the private tour inside the palace. Special tickets for this are available at the booking/ticket counter.

Hawa Mahal

After lunch, visit the prominent landmark of Jaipur situated in the center of the city. Even though travelers spend very less time here, let a tour guide take you around the palace and later explore the inside of this mahal at your own pace.

Explore Johari Bazar, and Tripolia Bazaar, and shop in the local stores located in the vicinity of the palaces. You can find products ranging from simple traditional souvenirs, and leather bags to expensive jewelry

Soon after finishing your breakfast head to the Anokhi Museum to see the rich textile heritage of the land through demonstrations and artifacts related to block printing on textile. This place is closed on Monday.

This is a beautiful step-well located near the Anokhi Museum and on the way to Amber fort from the museum. One can find such step-wells across the state of Rajasthan.

Amber / Amer Fort

This is a huge fort situated just outside the city of Jaipur. Do dedicate a few hours to explore this marvelous fort at your own pace. Things not to miss while exploring this fort – Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Niwas, Baradari, and the grand entrance of Suraj dwaar.
